I remain disinterested in games. The long term commitment of staying the same no matter the situation. I am afraid of change. Yet, I rather put up with it in the hopes that it will be worth it. I risk nothing by sitting here. 6 am and still ashamed, I gained nothing by huddling under the cover.
Escaping the cold that I could easily end. Thinking of you. Wishing for you. Steadily hating myself because I can help but dream of you. 6 am and I refuse to sleep. I refuse to see your face as I dream. It is a game really. To see how long I will pass. 6 am and I am still here. Eyes wide open and mind full of so many fears. I am so very tired but I refuse to give in. I refuse to play along to a game I know I will not win.
It’s 6 am and I am still awake.
I am still awake.
I have made a habit
Of tying strings around my thumb
I want to make it last but
It keeps on going numb
I think that if I try
A little harder than before
I could probably convince my body to
Hurt a little more
Move your body in time to tones
Slowly gracefully as you go
I am a ghost of a simple past
Tasting a painting that can not last
Faded with time I am all thats left
But dance to remember what you loved best
Move your body in time to beats
Stationed swaying as you think
I am a spirit from the past
Tasting a memory that can not last
Faded with love that never left
Dance to the music that you love best.
As a child I read a lot of books that were probably really bad for me. Romance novels, mystery novels, novels where someone important died at end and I was to little to realize that crying over fictional characters would get me laughed at as I aged. I am totally over that though, no hard feelings towards people who made fun of my…well.. my feelings. I am going on a tangent here…
See, back in my day romance had a different flavor. I was to little to understand how authors battled each other for the spotlight. To me they wrote for the fun of it and weren’t oppressed by societies expectations. They did not feel the same pain us lowly untalented plebs went through. It was until I was older that I learned any differently but still I drowned myself in the worlds of others. Teaching myself to see through their eyes with a greater understanding then my peers. I wanted to witness love from places reality could not touch.
So is it any wonder that I feel in love with R.L Stine‘s Fear Street Series.
Yes, I know what you are thinking “R.L Stine isn’t a romance writer”. In this you would be correct but the thing is romance written for children and young adults do not look the same for romances for adults. We get things like Hunger Games, Twilight, Looking For Alaska, Remember me, and Green Angel. Books that may have some romantic elements but cover a wide range of other genres. These are our introductions into the world of romance. As adults we will get to read books that are actually centered about the idea of love but until then we are traumatized into thinking that the dude with the murder boner for innocent people is our fated mate.
So yea, I got my twisted ideas of romance on the lap of the dude who gave us Goosebumps.
Back in my day bad boys ruled the world. The badder the better. I feel in love with the maniac murderer because he was the only one to treat the protagonist with any sort of kindness. I mean sure, he shot some dude in the face but true love concurs all. OK yea, he was stalkish and creepy, but did you hear him describe the way she looked as he watched her while she was sleeping.
This year I will try to move away from my comfort zone. I tend to talk about some really depressing stuff so this years theme is Love.
Yep, you heard right.
I am going to focus in love and all the gooy lovely dovey I will never have ness that comes with it. No more depressing Jessi (unless the story calls for it) I am a whole new person this month.
What this means is that I will be both reviewing books and writing poems dealing with this topic. Some of the romance books won’t be just pure romance (I need that meaty plot) but I try to make it so every book I read main focus is on romance with other stuff more background. So bring on those devine sweat producing, hand fanning, hallelujah singing romance novels. I got my tea, my blanket, and my unicorn plushy ( property-of-daughter–with-extreme-caution-from-momma)
*Cue confused screaming*
Jasper dreams rasping behind closed doors
Pretty boys fall in love with unexpected girls
Trouble happens and all soon ignored
Lies get told and told and told some more
Hidden behind a well tamed fist
Tears fall down though more lies about not being pissed
Days flow by and by and by
Truths are told beneath a starry sky
Romance happens to be forgotten again
Lies prevail because that is the truth that sells
Corruption of a good friend is expected now
Someome dies and we crawl towards an end
Some kisses shared a please don’t tell
But of course to be discovered
‘THAT PERSON IS YOUR LOVER’
Kept away to be safe only released because of plot
Devices deceived by a sellout plot
More drama and drama and drama
But then end draws near
Hopeless life is resuced despite our cries
Please just let the stupid bitch die!
What was once ignored, a romance, is now happening before our eyes
Suddenly and suddenly and suddenly see
The heroine we hate (or love) starts to fade
The Hero we crave (or whom disgust) doomed to save
Writes the end but to be continued on another day
What a stupid teen cliche.
Every last single female needs to get their heads out of their ass. Men are not mind readers, sure, but yet they all expected them to be. There wasn’t much chemistry in these story. While they were all full length they didn’t read as one. Things happened, people got into fights. The end.
It was cut and paste for each story. All the girls meet their guys earlier in life. They are all best friends and drooling over one of the friends brothers. While “researching” for….something…they each get pounced by the brother the desired and things pick up from there in a domino effect. Even though everything happened at the same time these girls are not all truly vying for the guys attention until after a friend has gotten her happy ever after (?).
During this all the guys are running around like beheaded chickens trying to get them to love them. Funny because every one of these ladies goes on and on about how the Wolfe men are protective of their ladies but as soon as the men to prove it, they suddenly think the worst of the guys.
So after a wonderful (?) Smexy scene in the woods each girl gets her chance to run from the guy she loves due to something in her past. Every last single one of these ladies has neglectful parents.
As they work ( really never is ever truly solved just glossed over or forgotten) through their emotional baggage things happen. What sort of things you ask! Unimportant things. Things that are supposed to be the story but ends up not being the case.
The best part about this series is how the guys say they are going to protect the ladies, but in reality they are never there when they need them most.
This is porno ex machina.
Okies ranting over and let me go into a bit more detail on this.
In Sassy Mates book 1 Scent of a mate we meet Jordan and Aric.
Jordan is a human with a troubled past of bullying and an Alcoholic family that never loved her. She befriends a young wolf shifter named Ellie while in school. Over the years she comes to be apart of Ellie’s family and the two befriend two other girls, Karla and Emma.
Each of these friends is, respectively, a mate to each of Ellie’s four ( convenient right! ) brothers. One of the brothers being Aric.
That’s all you really need to know to be honest. Because that is all there freaking is to this book. Aric is a Wolfe (get it…cause he is a wolf shifter so his last name Wolfe).
During a shifter ceremony to encourage mating Aric and Jordan mate, like mate mate. She has had the hugest crush on him since she was 13 and he was 18. He knew she was her mate since the first met. When she was 13 and he was 18. Of course they didn’t do anything but were instead forced to hold down their emotions and move on with life. Years later they mate. There is no warning he just comes up behind her, sniffs her, and proceeds to bump sandwiches with her.
Wrapping his salami stick with her cheese cake until salsa is made…
After this is said and done she runs away and basically refuses to talk to him for a bit. Pretty much ignores him due to her trust issues. Now as I stated before, her and every other female talk about how protective these guys are yet will go out of their way to make it impossible for them to be together. It goes way past “Give her time to heal” and into “Just find someone else already”!!! Like I understand the first few times of rejecting this guy but then it got ridiculous and took away from the main part of the story…whatever that was.
She nearly dies a few times and he has to save her right as soon as she is ok. Seriously he comes it once the fight is nearly over just to take her to safety or get all alpha cause he wasn’t there.
Oh and yea by the way he finally got her to talk to him was by sneaking into her house at night, waking her up, having sex with her….mmmmm romantic.
It ends on …I guess a happy ending. See even with her being in the other books you can’t tell that they are in love. They are barely in the same room with each. When they are she is either covered in blood or just not talking. So….maybe happy ending.
Not going to bother telling about the other stories. Just copy and pasted work.
Girls comes from bad home, woods sex, ignore guy, guy sneaks somewhere to bone girl, girl gets hurt, guy tries to save day, girl ends up saving day, misunderstanding is misunderstanding, happy maybe after with no explanation as to what happened to the original story.
Ever watch those cliché porno with the plumber and the house mom. These stories are the demented offspring of those porno films.

To say that I love reading is an understatement. No reading is life. It’s something that brings me joy; allowing me to escape to lands I can only see in my dreams.
Today a book was released that I think will give me the best of dreams. It will make me view reality with new eyes. Allowing me to be anyone or anything I want. A fair maiden, a quick pirate, a shy werewolves, an elusive spirit. I have the power to change lives for the best…or for the worst if need be.
I have a power thanks to others. A power to create worlds through their words. Someday I may even be able to help someone else in this way.
The story I am going to read is by a man named Noah Harris. He is a passionate independent author who makes the most interesting stories. He is also someone who I have had the pleasure of being acquainted with. His personality sweet and spicy just like his writing style. Many of his books hold a special place in my heart because of how original they are. Like all romance writer, he has his cliches, but he does his best.
My favorite being his HvZ series. Yes it’s one of those meet and fuck novels but what makes it different is that it’s sports related. Now I know what you are thinking, sports isn’t all that new, but here’s the kicker. It’s a sport that is mainly played in college and it the equivalent of freeze tag. Sounds boring until you throw zombies in the mix. Not real zombies of course but pretend. It’s a game I remember being wildly popular while I was in school. It has a supernatural element but it is isnt overbearing. Which is funny since the book is about some werewolves. Wolves in college playing zombie tag lol.
It brought a smile to my face because I remembered something so fun. His stories are wonderful because he brings so much of himself to the table.
Not to say he is the best I ever read, but he is pretty close when it comes to m/m. Oh yes he writes m/m books and I love them.
I have a deep love for books of all flavors.
His newest book is one i haven’t read but I am proud of because of the subject manner.
Looking through Amazon and the libraries, I found that there are not many books about those who are transgender, especially when looking for something dealing with the supernatural.
I am happy that he has decided to write something like this. It can be risky because it is easy to offend people. Not just those who are transgender but those who are not as well. Those who may not agree with them could be offended. A writer could lose fans even those who do read m/m books. So much could go wrong with it but it is a wonderful risk to take. Not only thay but this is his first full length book!!
So subject matter aside I am excited as all get out.
Once I get done I will write a review on it. I hope to have this be the first of many.
